It has a hub on one end and a spigot on the other end. The hub is a female fitting that connects to the outside of a pipe, while the spigot is a male fitting that connects to the inside of a pipe. This fitting is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and has a diameter of 4 inches. It is rated for use with non-potable water and has a working temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
